WHOSE HOUSE?
Client: All Elite Wrestling | Swerve Strickland
Date: 2023
What started as a quick sketch on a Post-it note became one of the most recognizable parts of Swerve Strickland’s identity.
I created the original “Whose House?” mark with the idea of turning Swerve’s signature phrase into something fans could instantly recognize. I started by sketching out the lettering by hand, then brought it into Illustrator to refine the design and make sure it could work across different types of merchandise and promotional materials.
Working with All Elite Wrestling, I took the design from that initial sketch to a finished mark that would eventually appear on T-shirts, hats, cups, flags, and even a pair of Reebok Iverson Answer 3’s.
One of the biggest moments for me was seeing it make its way onto the AEW World Championship. It's pretty incredible to think that what started as a humble doodle became a mark on a World Championship.
What I've enjoyed most about this project is seeing how much the design has become a part of Swerve's identity and how fans have embraced it. That's always been the goal for me as a designer. I want to create work that people connect with, not just something that looks good.
